What is rentingspaces.ca?

We are an on-line housing registry - an service for students that aims to provide extensive and accurate listings of off-campus housing and of other students looking for roommates.

This program is designed around the needs of students and schools. Student associations can participate in this program by helping to promote the service; in exchange, they receive a share of the revenue to fund other student services. The service can be tightly integrated with a school or student association's existing website.

Each metro area also gets its' own website. It works the same as searching from a participating school - same data, same results as if the search happened from a school site, but it reaches a broader audience.

The housing registry is a Campus Advantage program, operated in conjunction with whitematter development. Any profits from the site go to participating student associations to help fund their other programs.

Key Principles

Our service is designed for students, by students. We've based the service on a few key principles:

Unify the market.
Our system lets all the participating schools in a metro area share listings. That means more listings for students and more convenience for landlords.
Better service for students.
With market-leading features and a commitment to continue developing both the market and the service, your students will be getting a better housing registry.
More revenue for other student services.
Because the operating and development costs are shared among all the schools participating and actually paid for by landlords, student associations get more money back to fund other student services. And student associations pay nothing - that's right, $0 - to get started with the program.
Credit where credit is due.
It's still your service, and your students will know that. You can make our service fit right into your existing student association or institutional website.
